Pain Relief Options

Prolotherapy or Sclerotherapy (Commonly called Ligament Repair)

Prolotherapy is a treatment for muscle and joint pain which involves injections of a solution into part of a joint or a supporting tendon or ligament. The solution, usually a sugar solution, is thought to trigger growth in the connective tissue of the joint, eventually leading to reduced pain.

How is this procedure done?

The doctor will make a special solution of pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals along with the patient’s own blood plasma as well as a local anesthetic.

How many sessions does it take to repair ligaments?

Anywhere from one to three sessions, spaced six weeks apart. Most patients need two sessions on average.

 Trigger Point Injections

These are medical grade ozone injections for acute joint, muscle and ligament damage. These injections are made up of special solutions which include homeopathics, vitamins, minerals, local anesthetic, small amounts of steroids and ozone.

How often can this procedure be performed?

Every other day to once per week during acute injury. Most patients can resume normal activity the same day and most will be healing within a month.

Stem Cells (autologous stem cells)

Autologous stem cells are young, vibrant cells that can repair any tissue or any part of your body. They are “smart cells” that know what to do so they can repair damaged tissues, joints and organs.

How is the procedure done?

It takes approximately two to three hours to complete the procedure.

What is in the injectable solution?

It is a combination of local anesthetics, your own fat stem cells, your own bone marrow cells and your own plasma (PRP: Platelet Rich Plasma)

What should I expect after the treatment?

Recovery takes about two to three days. Athletes and physically hard labor work individuals should refrain from heavy lifting or training for six to eight weeks after the treatment.

How may treatments for full repair?

Anywhere between one to three treatments four to six months apart.
